Todd Dunn is a Florida native, born and raised right here in Englewood. This community isn't just where he works, it's home.
By day (and night, and every hurricane season in between), Todd is the Englewood Fire Department's Director of Public Relations and Public Information Officer, which basically means he gets paid to tell you how awesome our firefighters are.
Before his career in emergency services, Todd spent 20 years in television news, working as both a TV photographer and reporter. An experience that taught him how to tell a story, connect with people, and get the truth out fast. He spent 10 years with Charlotte County Fire & EMS earning his stripes before coming home to Englewood Fire in November 2024.
Here's how this works: every dollar donated to the Englewood Firefighters Benevolent Fund is a vote for Todd. No ballots, no polling booths, just straight-up generosity for a great cause supporting the men and women who show up for this town every single day.
So vote early, vote often, and vote big. Because Englewood deserves a Mayor who shows up with a camera in one hand and a fire radio in the other.
The Englewood Firefighter’s Benevolent Association is organized for the purpose of providing physical, financial, and emotional support to our members and their families during times of need. Our support is provided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors in a non-political and non-denominational manner. Our desire is to “take care of our own”, and to do the right things for the right reasons.

My daughter Emily was born with hip dysplasia, which was diagnosed when she was a year old. Surgery was required to repair her hip. We learned that the deductible for the surgery would be around $10,000. It was a huge bill we were not expecting. A bill that would have placed a large financial burden on our family that honestly would have taken years to repay.
The Englewood Firefighters Benevolent Fund, private donations and Operation Patriot Support all generously donated to cover a large portion of the medical bills. My family was able to focus on recovery and support for our daughter instead of worrying about the financial hardship of the surgery.
We thank everyone who donated to these funds and if you are able to donate to these great organizations to help families in the future, I can personally say how much the help is appreciated.
